RADēCO, is a veteran owned business operating in New England. About 40 years ago RADēCO started as a small company designing Air Samplers for the nuclear industry. In 1973, Science Applications International (SAI) purchased RADēCO. It was here the name RADēCO took on its true form. RADēCO stands for RAdiation DEtection COmpany pronounced (RA Deek Oh.) After purchasing the RADēCO product line from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in February 2000, the company was moved to New England. Since that time our manufacturing facility and annual sales have tripled in size. Over the last several years RADēCO has been awarded multiple large contracts from military and emergency response organizations including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and USEPA. SAIC, designed and built superior equipment and RADēCO has continued this tradition. RADēCO is committed to invest in new products and services and is continually upgrading older models and developing newer state-of-the-art models. From telemetry based remote monitoring and AC/DC portable high volume samplers to newly improved radioiodine sampling cartridges, the tradition of innovation continues at RADēCO. In January of 2006, RADēCO entered into an Alliance Agreement with International Speciality Products Corporation (ISP), to assist with the development of a new type of colorimetric radiation dosimeter designed specifically for first responders. The RADView PD dosimeter has been supplied to The National Guard, The State of New Jersey, and New York City to name a few and to numerous emergency response organizations around the country. RADēCO has worldwide distribution rights to the RADView line of radiation dosimeters. Recently, RADēCO began distributing first responder products manufactured by Union Springs Pharmaceuticals (USP). The most notable of these is the personal protection spray MyClyns. MyClyns is the first and only non-alcohol spray that can be applied (sprayed) directly into the eyes, mouth, nose, etc. that kills over 60 known pathogens. Our Facility All instrumentation and charcoal filter cartridge production is performed in our 7000 square foot facility on the Shetucket River in Taftville Connecticut. We currently have the capability of producing 70-100 air samplers per day and greater than 1000 radioiodine cartridges per day.
